Escher 360

Check out this awesome M.C. Escher inspired 3D-Photo. The picture made by Sokolovsky Ruslan is based on M.C. Escher work called „Relativity“. This was done by using 3DS Max, 3D modelling/animation package. All of those scenarios was done to be small interactive environments in Unity engine. (Check link below).
If you a nerdy enough you should check out the book „Gödel, Escher, Bach – An eternal golden braid“ by Douglas R Hofstadter (Amazon.de, Amazon.com), a fantastic book about self-referencing in mathematics, art, and music.
